Summary: "Toddler Friendly"
I bought this for my 3yr old daughter last year and she absolutely loves it. It is kid friendly and was easy for her to learn to use. It also has an extra headphone port that her brother can plug into and listen. I like being able to simply load a SD card with music, putting it in the Shaker and she is off dancing!

Oh my goodness! I love these little things. When my son was 5 he was fascinated by my Ipod. Of course there are some songs in my music collection that I would rather not let him hear so I started looking for a small mp3 player for him that wasn't like the junk from China that they sell on Ebay. He originally had the red Sansa Shaker (512mb.) He just turned 8 and we had to buy him a new blue one (512mb from Toys R Us for $19.99) because he lost his original Shaker. I couldn't tell you how many times that thing was dropped or stepped on, etc...It can take *a lot* of abuse.
Our 3 and 1/2 year old daughter wanted one in pink so I started looking. I'm guessing they've been discontinued in that color, considering the high prices I found for them. Eventually I found a 1GB pink Shaker on Ebay for $23.99, including shipping. Both of my children thoroughly enjoy having their own mp3 players and loading the music is SO easy. I just pop the memory card into the reader on my computer and drag and drop the songs I want to put on theirs.
I think the biggest plus of all is the built in speaker. My daughter's ears are too small for ear buds so she loves to hold her Shaker in one hand and dance around the house. While pressing the power button down you can shake the MP3 player and the song will skip to the next one, hence the name "Shaker." The kids love that!
If you have trouble with the bottom cover staying on, just remember to turn it until it clicks. It takes one AAA battery that is included along with the cable to connect to the computer and a handy belt clip that you can put on if you choose to. This is great for kids but I love it too. If it only had a screen where I could see the artists and songs so I could choose what I wanted to hear, I would buy a couple of these for different genres of music and my Ipod would be replaced!

Summary: "Perfect for my 4 year old!"
THe Sansa Shaker is a simple MP3 Player that i purchased for my 4 year old's birthday and she absolutely loves it and has no trouble operating it independently. She uses it every day and enjoys using it. Loading it is easy, just drag and drop like to a jump drive. The built in speaker can play pretty loud and she and my 2 year old dance around, its fabulous!

i got this for my 6yr old for his bday and he loves it has it on day and night. I love that it has a speaker and the batteries are AAA so we can charge or replace them even in the middle of nowhere. Is extremely user friendly and recommend it for any music loving child.
